Have you written a book, article, newsletter, column, or other helpful words of advice for our visitors? We'd love to feature it in The Author's Corner, perhaps in other areas of our site, and perhaps on other sites we host. You don't have to be a "name," as long as you've written something interesting.
Our guidelines are pretty simple:
- The piece doesn't have to be about mortgages or finance. It does need to offers some useful, topical, and/or timely information to our visitors. See below for ideas. Articles promoting 'make money fast' type books aren't in our line, though.
- You can extract a short piece from your book, newsletter, magazine, etc. "Top 10" lists are also welcome. Or, you can write a new piece based on your work.
- However you do it, it's your responsibility to clear it with your publisher or syndicate before you can have it appear on our site.
Here are some ideas and examples of pieces our visitors like:
- Personal finance, home repair and home building, and other topics are fair game. Some of our more popular articles deal with philosophical approaches to finance.
- Do you write a newsletter? Write us.
- Want to start a how-to or advice column, and need a high-traffic home? Talk to us.
- If you've written a three-dollar pamphlet and want to talk about it, fine! (That's how we started out.)
- If you represent a trade group, and want to publicize it with a handout, we're open.
- If you want to write a book and serialize it here, bring it on! (That's how we developed our own "How to Shop for Your Mortgage" booklet.
- We get a fair number of inquiries about alternative housing -- people are curious about manufactured housing, mobile homes, and even nontraditional (earth-sheltered, igloo, silo, sod, whatever) housing. Any takers?
Note: Your writing remains your property -- period. It can run as long as you (or we) like, and you're certainly welcome to furnish more than one article. Please be sure to include a "copyright" statement on it. All contributions can include a biography, a plug for your business and/or product, a link to Amazon.Com, and a prominent link to your Web page or site. Take a look at some of the other contributors to get an idea. We'll even scan in your book (video, etc) cover if you like.
Interested? Send e-mail to the editor -- but please do not send your piece until you hear from us. If you have written a book which you would like to have featured, we would appreciate receiving a review copy. All selections are made at the editorial discretion of HSH Associates, which may suggest changes or additions to any submissions.
