The Fed didn't make a move at the March meeting, but what the Fed had to say about future policy has implications for mortgage rates.

According to your mythology, hard to see how you picked KS over Mo in Kansas City. "1.State taxes, including income, sales, and gas taxes 2.Cost of living, relative to other areas of the country. 3.State crime rates, including both property and violent crimes. 4.School performance, based on state-wide averages for 8th grade math and reading scores. 5.Real estate costs, as measured by mortgage payments based on local housing prices and mortgage rates." 1) Gas & Sales taxes are much higher in Kansas. 2) Real Estate is much higher in Kansas then Missouri. 3) Johnson County KS just voted to increase their sales tax due to the budget problems in Kansas. 4) School Teachers are leaving Kansas & going to Missouri due to what has been done to the schools in Kansas & cuts to teachers. 5) You are correct about crime in Kansas City but not regarding the Missouri suburbs outside of Kansas City.

Dylan, Thanks so much for writing in, we appreciate your interest in this content. The extensive research and data gathering we underwent for this project painted Kansas as the clear winner. There is no doubt certain localized areas will be better in one state versus the other. We are always striving to make our data projects as accurate and as engaging as possible. Thanks again for writing in. -Tim Manni, HSH.com

As Meghan pointed out you still have income tax if you work in MA and you pay the higher property tax. Not to mention the hour and half plus commute you would have to Boston

You are forgetting that even if you live in NH, you still have to Mass income taxes if you work in that state. Also the property taxes in NH are significantly higher.

Hi Meghan: You're correct. NH residents do have to pay Massachusetts income taxes if they work in Mass. We will update the article to make that clear.
