The Manufactured Housing Program is a consumer protection program that regulates the construction of certain factory-built housing units called "manufactured homes," formerly known as "mobile homes." HUD works with 37 states to respond to consumer complaints. The Minimum Property Standards (MPS) establish certain minimum standards for buildings constructed under HUD housing programs.
